I know some of the stories by heart and have seen their film adaptations but I still enjoy reading them very much! Such a good hostess. Dr. John Christow, upon introduction, came screaming off the pages that he was that guy and it was all I could do not to skip forward to his demise (very end of chapter 10) to see how it was going to be done and who among the characters would be the one to send him on h. It wouldn’t matter who the detective is, the book has already had its intriguing premise shattered. Joyce's brother Leopold witnessed his sister's murder. Christie, who often admitted that she did not like Poirot (a fact parodied by her recurring novelist character Ariadne Oliver), particularly disliked his appearance in this novel.
