A great film for all football purists, and what a fantastic performance by michael sheen as the great brian clough.shows his short reign as leeds united afc manager.the film is set after don revie takes over the england job after sir alf ramsay failed to lead england to the 1974 world cup.brian clough had a vendetta against revie after the latter snubs him after a match involving revie's leeds united and cloughs derby county.from then on it was clough vs revie.with cloughs determination to beat leeds united in 1973,he played a full strength side just before a semi final match in the european cup against juventus,a match which resulted in injuries to several key players for cloughs derby, and they went on to lose to the italians then cloughs relationships with his close allies faded.with some brilliant acting and a big shout out for jim broadbent for playing cloughs chairman at derby county and of course timothy spalls portrayal of cloughs right hand man,and close freind peter taylor, this is a really good dramatic film, and of course it has the now legendary interview between clough and revie for yorkshire tv.the only downfall is it wasnt long enough.would of liked more insight into what went wrong at leeds and a bit more of cloughs personal life, but otherwise its a really good film.
